San Giovanni Suergiu, big fire in the night in Punta Trettu

A large fire broke out late this evening in the countryside of San Giovanni Suergiu, in the Punta Trettu area, a short distance from Matzaccara.

Numerous teams from Civil Protection, Assosulcis, Terramare, Gonnesa intervened on site, along with the Carbonia firefighters and the Sant'Antioco Forestry Department.

The flames spread over a vast area and had not yet been put out by 10pm.
