Still uncertainties about the future of the health services of the Asl del Medio Campidano polyclinic in via Nurazzeddu, which will close its doors on December 31, 2022 while there is no official announcement of a new location.

This is the protest of the volunteers of the group "Cittadini Attivi San Gavino" who some time ago collected 1082 signatures to prevent the transfer of specialist health services to other Municipalities.

Now they are asking for reassurances as highlighted by the spokesman Luca Vaccargiu: «The only confirmed certainty is that the clearing work has begun on the structure in via Nurazzeddu and several specialists have already received the communication on the next operational headquarters for them. We are deeply concerned about the constant murmur reported for some specialist services which are rumored to not remain in San Gavino Monreale as in the case of the dentist, ENT, cardiologist and ophthalmologist. Furthermore, there is talk of important services which will probably remain in San Gavino but which will continue with significantly reduced hours. So far no one has officially responded to our requests and, among other things, there has been no communication on the matter. We hope these rumors turn out to be a false alarm."

Meanwhile, the mayor Carlo Tomasi reassures: «The services will not move from San Gavino but will only be divided into different structures between viale Trieste and the hospital. There will be no theft of the health services which will remain in San Gavino».

But to date the only certainty is the interruption of health services until 5 January 2023 as the general manager Giorgio Carboni informs on the official website of the Medio Campidano Local Health Authority: «All activities – assures the number one of the Local Health Authority – will resume regularly on January 9. The local health authority will provide timely communication of the new organization».
