The prosecutor Andrea Chelo has requested an immediate trial and the preliminary hearing judge Federica Fulgheri has set a hearing for April 9 for Andrea Giuntoli, a 43-year-old accused of the murder of Francesco Salis, the bricklayer killed by a gunshot on the night of August 9 in Santa Giusta.
Now we will have to understand if the defense attorney, Patrizio Rovelli, will make any requests. According to the reconstruction of the carabinieri, Giuntoli and Salis had spent the evening in a bar in the center then there was a word too much, apparently a compliment to a niece of Salis.
Then the meeting in via Dante, where Salis would have shown up with another man (there were also his niece and a friend) and holding a billhook. At that point Giuntoli, in an attempt to defend himself, would have fired the shot. Salis' family is assisted by the lawyer Fabio Costa.
