Rotary Club Cagliari Historic Cars, Saturday journey into the past of the car

On Saturday in Cagliari, in the setting of Palazzo Doglio, the first edition of the "Vintage Car Elegance Competition". The organization is the Rotary Club of Cagliari, chaired by Enzo Pinna. Initiative with beneficial objectives: to raise funds to be allocated to a new important charitable project in collaboration with the "Embrace a dream" group, aimed at contributing to the purchase of a mobile clinic, equipped with a latest generation mammography and ultrasound system, to protect the women's health in Sardinia, which will allow screening exams to be carried out simply and free of charge.
The appointment is for 3pm on Saturday, with the presence of vintage cars selected for the occasion, with the final awards ceremony. «The car elegance competitions, born in the 1920s», we read in a press release, «were events in which the most renowned car manufacturers and the most famous coachbuilders and stylists of the time participated. The motor vehicle, which in those years increasingly established itself as the maximum expression of man's genius and inventiveness, experienced moments of magical splendor through such manifestations. Beautiful and fascinating cars, these "custom-built", expensive and unattainable to most people, paraded with skill and worldliness to be admired and judged." «Concours d'elegance for cars», we read again, «ceased, however, in the mid-1950s. They no longer made sense. The automobile was beginning to shed its exclusive forms, to the advantage of a fair and anonymous global diffusion and use. Proposing those competitions again today, with those now historic and even more fascinating cars, is not only a cause for entertainment but above all a cultural journey back in time, which has even more value if combined with the charitable project of the Rotary Club of Cagliari".
Rotary which also involved the Municipality of Cagliari, Aci Cagliari, Aci Storico, AE Sardinia Association, SCQ Cagliari Association, Old Car Association, CAVS Association.
The General Command of the Carabinieri and the State Police will also exhibit their vintage cars in front of "Palazzo Doglio".
