Yesterday the (high voltage) closure of the ethnic restaurant in Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Sassari , today the words of the mayor Giuseppe Mascia on what happened.

" We want to bring serenity and liveability back to our city ," declares the mayor. The closure of the activity took place last night by the local police after a series of conduct such as failure to respect the rules and shouting , elements which had led, according to the note from Palazzo Ducale, "to a situation which is now unsustainable ".

And it was Mascia himself who asked for investigations to be carried out on the premises because, as he declared, he was no longer willing to tolerate a "no man's land" historic centre, therefore arranging, in synergy with the local police commander Gianni Serra, a series of controls. Numerous commercial offenses were discovered by the Municipality, while the building and environmental police verified the non-coincidence between the practice presented to the Municipality's technical offices and the real situation, " between unsuitable toilets ", we read in the administration's press release, “and other elements that preclude its usability, so much so that the investigations continue in order to ascertain any responsibilities of the technician who drew up and signed the document ”.

What happened yesterday is not the only intervention implemented by the Municipality "to put an end to a situation incompatible with the urban, social and cultural regeneration projects that the current city administration intends to promote and implement". In the meantime, it has been decided to strengthen the presence of local police officers in the historic center which will now reach the number of ten.
