Last night, at the last minute, the concert of the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari scheduled for the churchyard of the Basilica of Bonaria was cancelled.

It was just after 9pm, the time set for the start of the show, when the audience, 500 spectators, was informed by the superintendent of the Lirico Nicola Colabianchi that «unfortunately the concert has been canceled for technical reasons. I have just learned that the municipal commission for public entertainment supervision (which met last night at the Mem, ed.) did not give authorization due to some irregularities found."

The unknown remains for this evening's concert.

The news was received with some dismay by the large audience who came to listen to the orchestra and choir conducted by Marco Boemi, perform famous choral pieces and popular preludes, symphonies and interludes in the splendid setting between the church and the sea.

More than one expressed their disappointment with "shame", "so much waiting for nothing".

«It is the first time that a similar event has happened, it had never happened not only with regards to the Lirico theater of Cagliari but also in my activity as a musician - said Colabianchi - the commission considered that all the regulations for the organization of outdoor shows and did not grant usability. I will hear from the mayor, the councilor and all the figures who can give us precise clarifications to try to understand what happened and try to remove the obstacles that have stood in the way of the realization of this concert much awaited by the public".

Colabianchi also announced refunds for spectators.
