The new supplementary agreement for the outpatient specialist in Sardinia has been approved. Thanks to the strategy studied by the Solinas Council, on the proposal of the Regional Health Councilor, Mario Nieddu, for the abatement of waiting lists, healthcare companies will be able to potential out-of-hospital specialist medicine through specific plans for cutting waiting times. in ordinary business and the recovery of performance lagging behind due to the coronavirus pandemic.

An additional agreement that was signed at the beginning of September with the trade union representatives and which will allow outpatient specialists involved in the activity of breaking down the lists to be paid an hourly fee of 80 euros, incentives for which the Region has provided an endowment of 8 million euro and which will remain active until the funds are used up, which may eventually be refinanced.

"The reduction of waiting times for healthcare services is a priority on which we are placing the utmost attention, deploying resources and every tool at our disposal to relaunch our healthcare system severely tested by Covid and a lack of doctors who have distant roots ", underlines the governor Christian Solinas." This new provision - he continues - testifies once again to our commitment to guarantee all Sardinians the right to treatment and assistance ".

"To achieve the objectives related to the recovery of the services postponed during the pandemic and to break down the waiting lists - adds the commissioner Nieddu - we closed an important agreement with the unions and very closely we gave legs to the agreement by approving the provision that will now allow health companies to launch ad hoc plans for outpatient specialists. Thus, through the reorganization of activities and incentives to staff, we aim to increase the volume of services provided for the benefit of citizens ”.
