The rates were the same as last year , but the total revenue is higher than in summer 2023 .
Record figures for paid parking along the Sinis coast, from Mari Ermi to Maimoni passing through Is Arutas and San Giovanni di Sinis. The coffers of the Municipality of Cabras will receive 574 thousand euros. A record since the administration established the blue lines a few steps from the sea. It is all written in the determination of the Sinis Marine Protected Area. The total amount collected by the company that won the contract for the management of the service, Sis, is equal to 879 thousand euros. Of these, 435 thousand euros will go to the municipal coffers, as foreseen in the tender. Plus another 139 thousand euros, a sum that comes from the proceeds exceeding 700 thousand euros. In this way, the final net amount is 574 thousand euros.
The contract in fact stipulated that if the company had collected more than 700 thousand euros it would have had to pay the municipality 77.77 percent of the excess revenue. Higher figures than last year. In 2023 the municipality had collected 507 thousand euros, in 2022 instead 407 thousand euros. "From this sum however - explains the mayor Andrea Abis - it is right to remember that the municipality has already used the resources for the collection and disposal of waste, for the arrangement of the roads, the restoration of the bathrooms and the preparation of the rest areas". And next year the numbers will be even higher since there will be 250 parking spaces available for tourists. For the first time, in fact, the private area of Corrighias that the municipality is acquiring with the expropriation method, between Is Arutas and Maimoni, which has always been used abusively, will be regulated.
Those who were used to parking their car or camper a few meters from the sea without paying will have to dig into their wallets . An operation that will cost the municipal coffers 200 thousand euros.
