In the last few hours it has rained all over Sardinia, even if it is still too early to fully evaluate the consequences for the reservoirs most affected .
In a press release, the regional department of Public Works nevertheless expresses optimism. Enas, it says, has been able to reactivate "the pumping that allows the water to be conveyed from the Padria weirs to the Temo reservoir. At present, the operations have allowed the transfer of over 200 thousand cubic meters per day of water resources. The plant, consisting of three groups of 1 mc/s (cubic meter per second) and three of 500 l/s (liter per second), currently works with 2 large pumps and one small one, for a flow rate of 2.5 mc/s derived towards the reservoir".
Enas «is working to put all the groups into operation for the first time ever, simultaneously, with some system adjustments and emergency maintenance of an impeller, which was found to be out of order during the start-up, to derive all 2.5 m3/s, also in anticipation of the new rain events, expected between Sunday and Monday. Tomorrow it will be possible to verify the performance of the operations».
According to the Region's portal that monitors the hydrographic system in real time, in the last 48 hours the cumulative precipitation in the Bidighinzu station amounts to 39.20 millimeters, 43.20 in Cuga, 56.80 in Villanova Monteleone, Alto Tempo 29.20. In other areas, this is the situation: Coghinas 31 millimeters of rain in the last 48 hours, 35.40 Monte Lerno (Pattada), 33.60 in Maccheronis (Torpè), 38.60 in Nuraghe Arrubiu (Orroli), 30.60 in Bau Pressiu (Iglesiente).
