The University of Sassari continues to project itself into Europe . The 464th academic year will be inaugurated at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 6th, in the presence of Raffaele Fitto , Executive Vice President of the European Commission "and also EU Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms. This role allows us to highlight our hunger for planning and resources," as Rector Gavino Mariotti emphasized. "Brussels has many resources, but we need to present valid projects. We have already done so."

Referring to the 120 million from the National Research Council (NRRP) obtained thanks to a call for proposals ("We've spent almost all of that 120 million") , the University of Turin is ready for new proposals and in the meantime is enjoying the results.

"2026 will see the inauguration of the new central building. We already have the keys to the institute for the blind, which will host new activities for the Humanities Center, and we are awaiting the Ministry's approval to open the Innovation Department in Olbia," the rector announced.

At the inauguration of the academic year, Rector Mariotti will present all the university's numbers: from enrollment, which has held steady and shows a slight increase, to the budget, which has increased by over 20%.
