Yet another episode of violence in the prisons of Sardinia and again in the penitentiary of Sassari .

The victim this time is a doctor, attacked by an inmate.

Roberto Melis, Polgiust national secretary, denounced the episode.

"On Thursday afternoon - says Melis - moments of terror were experienced in the Sassari prison, when a prisoner, after being examined, presumably not satisfied with the prescribed therapy, unloaded his anger against the unfortunate doctor on duty, who despite impeccable and professional behavior was the subject of vile aggression.
Everything took place suddenly and it was only thanks to the readiness of the policeman on duty that the aggression was prevented from turning into something more serious ”.

The detainee, however, managed to hit the doctor, with slaps and a kick to the face.

"What happened - continues Melis - worries us, above all the fact that these acts could become ordinary given the situation we live today in our homeland prisons."

“Several times - says the secretary Polgiust - we have urged the heads of the penitentiary administration, both regional and national, but to date nothing has been done. We hope that now, following the inauguration of the new government and the new Minister of Justice, there will be those long-awaited and hoped-for responses that have never been received to date ”.
