The report isn't definitive. "Updates are ongoing." But the resulting calculation, unprecedented, is a red flag: "In Sardinia, the onslaught of wind turbines and solar panels affects 209 out of 377 municipalities." This represents 55% of the total. "It's enormous, it's unacceptable," says Piero Atzori, the author, a retired professor of science and chemistry who serves as spokesperson for the Comitadu pro sa Nurra technical group, with 2,100 Facebook members.
"It's time for mayors and citizens to resume the battle against energy speculation together. On land and at sea," is the appeal. The mayors, for their part, have never stopped feeling like they're in the trenches : "The fate of territories must be decided by local communities, not ministries and departments. We reiterate that renewables are permitted only in the form of self-consumption."
