"It is you who have given me a gift and not I to you, because I have always been in love with Porto Torres and all of you , and I wanted to do this work with pleasure , with the hope of being able to continue to give you pleasant surprises." In Porto Torres, his hometown, Gavino Sanna , the advertiser whose commercials have reached every part of the world, took the stage in the Filippo Canu hall to talk about his latest work , the project "The heart remains where it was born" , conceived by the world-famous artist and carried out on behalf of the municipal administration.

Ten commercials, directed by Sassari-born Alberto Salvucci and his crew, with music by Marino de Rosas, are short films that tell the story of the beauty and identity of Porto Torres through the eyes and voices of those who experience it every day.

The city's iconic sites become settings for memory, identity, and hope for the future. The protagonists are the faces of Turritan citizens, amateur actors who have undertaken a unique experience. Short films featuring Elisabetta Bazzoni, Giovanni Calvia, Giovanni Caravello, Salvatore Depalmas, Marco Fraghì, Lucia Grieco, Giovanni Manca, Elisabetta Pintus, Marco Pireddu, and Mariasanta Zucca.

The evening, hosted by Manuela Muzzu, also included a welcome from Mayor Massimo Mulas, who expressed the administration's and the entire city's thanks for the artist's gesture of affection. This was followed by a speech by director Alberto Salvucci, who recounted the project's genesis and his creative collaboration with Sanna. The lights then dimmed to make way for the screening of the commercials.

At the end of the screening, a long round of applause greeted the entrance onto the stage of "maestro" Gavino Sanna, 86 years old and with a lifetime of success behind him . He emotionally spoke about the significance of the project, his connection with his fellow citizens, his lifelong friends, and his desire to give something back to his hometown of Porto Torres that would endure over time: " The heart stays where it was born, and it never truly leaves. Every time I return, I find myself again ."

The mayor then presented Sanna with a plaque of recognition on behalf of the city, engraved with the following words: "The City of Porto Torres pays homage to its illustrious fellow citizen for his generosity in donating his artistic genius to the Porto Torres community."
