Tradition and hospitality celebrate Epiphany, bidding farewell to the passing holidays with a toast and a chestnut feast. Tomorrow, Monday, January 5th, the Christmas season in Senorbì ends with the arrival of the Three Kings on horseback : for children, it's time to discover if new gifts have arrived, and for adults, it's time to immerse themselves in the most delicious traditions associated with Epiphany.
Entertainment, children's games, and chestnuts: these are the highlights of the "Is Tres Urreis" event, organized by the Municipality of Senorbì in collaboration with the Pro Loco, the Parish of Santa Barbara, and the association "Insieme - Ieri, oggi e domani per Elena." "As is tradition, on the eve of the Epiphany, we await the arrival of the Three Wise Men, who will bring a small gift to the children who will begin primary school in September," says Municipal Councilor for Culture, Sonia Mascia. "It's a pleasure to once again host a small event that holds such important symbolic meaning for Senorbì." Meet at 5:30 pm in Piazza Italia, where the Three Wise Men will bring gifts to the children.
And while the little ones unwrap the gifts brought by Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthazar, adults can nibble and savor freshly roasted chestnuts. Face painting for the little participants, hosted by the Insieme association, and entertainment provided by the Santa Barbara parish oratory, are planned. All children entering first grade in September will receive a small gift.
