" Two blows, very hard on his hands, with the floor brush but he didn't let go . All the coins fell to the floor, but he managed to escape with the purse and the money."

Mafalda Palmas, 65, recounts the tense moments she experienced on Monday evening in her mini-market on Via Oristano in Donigala when a robber stole her day's takings, between 300 and 500 euros . In the meantime, the carabinieri are continuing their investigations to try to trace the man who, with his face covered and armed with a knife , carried out the robbery.

"We were closing and I was washing the floor," recalls the shop owner, "and suddenly I saw a boy come in, he immediately headed towards the cash register and rummaged through the shelf where we usually keep the purse with the money."

It all happened in a few seconds , just enough time for her daughter Miriana , who was busy cleaning the salami slicer, to realize what was happening. " I rushed to my mother," the girl says, "I don't know if I tried to move that guy, but he certainly turned around and pointed the knife at me." The young woman stepped back, and in the meantime her mother hit the robber with the brush, "he mumbled something and then ran away and disappeared in an instant."

Investigations are underway to try to identify the lone robber, who fled on foot through the dark streets of the hamlet.
