228 people have been sanctioned in just over a month by the local police in Sassari for offenses related to non-compliance with the rules on waste disposal.

A sad record, which crushes all the previous ones, and which in some areas even registers five offenses in just one hour.

A fact, however, that if on the one hand it indicates an increase in uncivilized people and a decrease in the sense of the common good, on the other it is certainly also due to the new technologies available to the city.
NEW VEHICLES - There are in fact four new "photo-traps" available, to which others will be added in the coming weeks, of the latest generation, to allow total and capillary control of the territory: from the city center to the villages.

Purchased from the Environment sector with the proceeds of the fines, the "traps" are powered by solar panels to always remain active and not discharge. The images, at high resolution, are transmitted in real time and without interruption directly to the Command. They also have a wide range of action and take up a larger space. Not only that: they are real video cameras also useful for surveillance and therefore to enhance the security level of citizens.

Like the previous ones, they are mobile and can therefore be moved to the various areas of the city and the countryside, identifying the most critical areas also thanks to the reports that arrive from citizens through the institutional channels of the Authority.

SANCTIONS - Among the penalties, the greatest number - 125 out of 228, therefore more than half - are linked to failure to comply with the door-to-door waste collection service. Among the various objects found, even a huge water heater, hidden in black bustiers and abandoned near the bins.

As many as 51 were the fines for conferment using black envelopes instead of transparent, as per legislation. And 40 are the people who come from neighboring countries to throw their waste in the bins of Sassari.

In addition to these violations, there are those committed by a man of Nigerian origin who in recent days has emptied an apartment leaving all furniture, objects and even three gas cylinders on the street. The subsequent attempt to set everything on fire (the investigations to identify the perpetrator are still ongoing) seriously endangered the inhabitants of the historic center district where the incident took place and only the timely intervention of the police officers. local avoided the tragedy. Two days later, the same man repeated the behavior. For him one thousand euros in penalties plus the obligation to compensate the Municipality for the expense that the Authority has faced to have the area cleaned up by the waste contract manager.
