There's a different way to celebrate March 8th, far from consumerist rituals and closer to the heartbeat of the earth and words. Tomorrow in Samugheo, the first edition of "Vestite di Versi" will take place, a poetry gathering conceived by poet Milena Musu. To celebrate women through the authentic act of walking and reading together. The idea is rooted in an experience she had in Emilia Romagna, where she experimented with the "Literary Walks" created by Loris Arbati. "When I returned to Sardinia," she explains, "I thought it would be nice to replicate it, even though I realized there's little female prominence. Perhaps because we women are still accustomed to thinking of others, rather than ourselves." From that reflection grew the desire to create a regular event capable of integrating sport and poetry, care for the body and soul. A need that takes on an even greater significance in the Oristano area, considering that "this area has the highest rate of diabetes in the region, making an initiative that combines exercise, beauty, and community even more valuable."

The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Samugheo and organized with Oubliette Magazine and the publishing house Tomarchio Editore, aims to restore a convivial dimension to poetry, far from the isolation of social media. The program will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Casa Serra, with welcome songs by the Coro Polifonicu Samughesu and a performance by classical guitarist Maria Luciani. The group will then set off along a flat, accessible trail of approximately ten kilometers, leading to the Paule Luturru Giant's Tomb. Here, around 12:30 p.m., each participant will have the opportunity to present their book by reading some poems, with the Nuragic monument serving as a natural backdrop.

The afternoon will continue with readings at a scenic spot, concluding at 5 pm at Casa Serra with book stalls open for purchase, sale, and exchange. Participation is free and open to poets, writers, and anyone who wishes to spend a day enjoying literary conviviality. To participate, please send the book title, year of publication, and publisher to milena.musu@studio.unibo.it. Free admission.
