" Alessandra Todde is ready to resign ." This is the news, signed by Ansa, that has been circulating in chats in the last few hours. But it is a fake. "Forwarded many times," WhatsApp says. And yet, at first glance, it all seems true. The "format" of the news, in fact, follows the typical one of the well-known press agency.

The hoax has already reached the smartphones of many Sardinians. Between the lines we read that the president, "following the recent events regarding her fall, is ready to submit her resignation. However, she underlines her firm belief that she is ready to give the Sardinians their say back. After ten months of commitment and constant work for Sardinia and its citizens, she is certain that trust in her will be renewed."

But the (false) script does not stop there, with an unidentified signature explaining, to the unaware readers, that "over the course of these months, Todde has faced numerous challenges, committing herself to improving the economic and social situation of the region. Her decision to resign is the result of deep reflection and the desire to give back to the Sardinians the possibility to express their opinion and freely choose their own future".

In closing, also the self-styled declarations of the president: «I have dedicated myself with passion and seriousness to the service of my land and my fellow citizens. Despite the difficulties, I firmly believe that the work done in these months has given concrete results and that Sardinia deserves a future of growth, innovation and development. I am ready to give even more for my island and for the Sardinian people».

In the meantime, the press agency has confirmed that "this is fake news . The top management of Ansa has announced that they will report what happened to the Postal Police to trace the author or authors of the fake news and reserves the right to take legal action against those responsible."
