He would have turned 94 in a few days, but Antonio Puddu, a historic building builder from Quartucci who had lived in Cagliari for years, died today in his home in via Garavetti surrounded by the affection of his three children and beloved grandchildren. Tomorrow he will return to his Quartucciu: the funeral is at 3.30 pm in the church of San Giorgio, and "signor Tonino", as everyone called him, will cross Piazza Parrocchia for the last time, which together with his wife Maria Murru had wanted to donate to the community both for a bond of affection and because the structure of his company is made up of half of Quartucciu's employees and collaborators.

Founder of the "Puddu Group", since the 1950s he has made a major contribution to redesigning Cagliari through numerous projects, still today quality models for younger companies, becoming an example in the world of construction throughout the regional territory. It is no coincidence that he designed some of the island's iconic buildings in both the public and private sectors. Among others there is the regional council building in via Roma.

At the end of the Seventies he created countless public social housing works in the Sant'Elia district and several city schools. But also the general management of the ASL of Cagliari, various industrial plants, the Technical Commercial Institute of Quartu, has expanded and renovated the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Sardinia and numerous residential complexes in via Koch, in Su Planu, in Is Corrias, in viale Poetto and Genneruxi. Among the most iconic creations of recent times are the conversion of the former Enel building in Viale Diaz and the restoration and transformation of Palazzo Tirso into a hotel.

Due to his human qualities and entrepreneurial ability, Tonino Puddu leaves an unfillable void in the Sardinian economy.
