A hair salon flooded with sewage. This is what Simona Angioni, owner of a shop on via Don Minzoni in Quartucciu, has had to deal with since the sewers in the area exploded repeatedly, submerging her business in dirt and damage . And while her business struggled to survive, the response from the institutions was an endless series of postponements and disinterest.
“Imagine opening the salon and finding the floor covered in mud and sewage, the air unbreathable, and not being able to do anything because those who should intervene turn away,” says Simona, angry and worried. In October, a downpour transformed her salon into a pool of sewage. “I lost products, I had to close for days to clean. I reported everything, with photos, videos and certified emails. But they ignored me. The Municipality responded that it wasn’t their responsibility, Abbanoa said there was no need to clean the sewers. So, after months of silence, the problem returned.”
The manholes exploded again, pouring water and mud in front of the hall. "We called Abbanoa, but they told us they had no means. The local police, contacted for the emergency, hung up on us. Yet another buck-passing, with no solution."
In the midst of this confusion, the Region sent Simona back to the traffic police, who, according to her, did not take any measures. And, despite an inspection by an Abbanoa technician late yesterday evening, the necessary intervention has not yet arrived. Concern is now high: "With the weather alert issued for this weekend, what will happen? We are at the point of no return."
