Two play wheelchairs and other essential material for training : this is the balance of the theft committed against the wheelchair basketball company Ba.DS. (Disabled Basketball Sardinia) by Quartu Sant'Elena .

It happened at the sports hall in via Beethoven , currently closed for work, and the team executives discovered it, in reconnaissance in the gym's warehouses in view of the resumption after two years of suspension due to the health emergency.

A gesture, the dynamics of which remain to be clarified, which represents a significant obstacle , in this already difficult phase of post-Covid-19 relaunch attempt, to the resumption of activities and the recruitment and return to the fields of new athletes.

"The economic damage is significant - explains Eva Garau , vice president of the company - quantifiable in at least eleven thousand euros in total for the two wheelchairs alone".

Then there is also the “moral damage - adds Garau - because after two years of pandemic , resuming activities in this way leaves us very sad . However, we are already rolling up our sleeves, and we hope to be back on the pitch soon and more motivated than before ”.
