His name was Stefano Tanzi, he was 65 years old and the victim of the tragedy that took place this afternoon in Quartu Sant'Elena was a retired policeman.

The man, the police officers and the forensics specialists ascertained, is the victim of an accident: he was crushed by the gate of his home in via Petrarca.

Tanzi was leaving the parking lot in his Ford Ka: he got out of the vehicle, perhaps to pick up a plastic bottle that was near the end of the automatic gate, bordered by a low wall, and remained crushed.

The railing hit him at the neck. The 118 doctors, firefighters and police cars from the police station immediately arrived on the spot, but for the 65-year-old it was already too late.
