Today, Lieutenant General Aldo Iacobelli, commander of the Podgora Carabinieri interregional unit, visited several units of the Cagliari provincial command.

The general first went to Villacidro, where he met with soldiers from the local company and its dependent stations, before continuing on to the stations of Assemini and Sestu.

During the meetings, the senior officer reiterated the centrality of the force and the role of command stations in protecting the territory, even in peripheral locations: they are defined as "authentic state outposts, listening points, bastions of legality and security, and an essential point of reference for local communities, as well as a safe haven for those seeking advice, comfort, or experiencing difficulty."

Focusing on the value of proximity to the public, General Iacobelli expressed appreciation for the daily commitment, courage, and ability to address the complexities of service with poise and dedication. The senior officer emphasized the importance of the efficiency of the units and the serenity of those who serve within them: two aspects that, combined with respect for the rules and the conscious sharing of a higher ideal "that guides the behavior of every Carabiniere, even beyond the realm of personal convenience, constitute the necessary foundation for carrying out the right actions. These actions are the hallmarks of men and women whose distinctive traits are their professional qualifications, their humane demeanor, their ability to listen, and the cohesion within the units, recognized as the true driving force behind their daily work."

The visits concluded with the General signing the Service Memorial: a traditional gesture that seals the bond between the Institution's top leadership and its territorial branches.
