A 43-year-old from Sassari reported for aggravated fraud.

The man ended up in trouble after the complaint of an 82-year-old from Quartu, who turned to the police complaining of having been defrauded during a negotiation for the purchase and sale of a marine engine.

The elderly man, a boating enthusiast, had found an online advertisement in recent months, where a boat engine was offered.

However, after making bank transfers worth a thousand euros to the seller, the engine was never delivered to him. Suspecting that he had been scammed, he turned to the military, who started the investigation, eventually managing to trace the author of the "ghost" advertisement.

As mentioned, this is a 43-year-old man residing in the north of the island, who after having collected the advance from the elderly man became untraceable and has now been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Cagliari.
