Sandro Sarais, the 56-year-old accused of the murder of Mihaela Kleics , the Romanian woman, his partner, killed in recent days in Quartu, in via della Musica, took his own life.

The man had become untraceable and was then tracked down by the carabinieri in the countryside of Solanas with some knife wounds, perhaps self-inflicted.

He was then taken to hospital in Cagliari to be treated, waiting to be transferred to prison. But right in the hospital - at the Businco - the man committed suicide, throwing himself from the window of his third floor room.

Rescuers tried to revive him, but attempts to save him were in vain.

According to reports, Sarais was guarded by two prison police officers, who tried to block him, but failed.
