The project to connect via Czechoslovakia and via Italia continues and, after two decades of waiting, will link the residential area of Quartello, close to via Fiume, with the area of Pit'z and Serra.

The project - which was already present in the Puc but had never been implemented until now - got the green light today at the last meeting of the Quartu Sant'Elena council with the inclusion in the three-year planning of the intervention worth 1 million and 800 thousand euros, financed last February with 600 thousand euros of regional funds deriving from the 2023 Stability Law and with an additional one million and 200 thousand euros as co-financing from the available municipal surplus.

The Council also resolved to approve the draft agreement with which the Municipality accepts the funding and related fulfilments from the regional source, giving a mandate to the Public Works, planning and mobility sector to implement the project.

"The overall funding scheme is divided into three tranches," explains the Councilor for Public Works Antonio Mauro Conti. «In addition to the 600 thousand euros of regional derivation, there are municipal funds equally divided into 600 thousand euros to be allocated to the execution of the works and 600 thousand for expropriations. An impressive effort for the Quartese administration which intends with this project to implement a real strategic mending of the urban fabric of the city. The assignment of the executive design is expected by the end of the year. By 2024 Quartu will have a new and wide tree-lined urban avenue, with sidewalks and cycle paths, which can be traveled safely even on foot".
