Some inconvenience will be inevitable but the state road 554, in the Quartese section that has already become an urban avenue for some time, closes to traffic at night precisely to avoid problems with the road network.

The elevated walkway at via Biora needs to be fixed and so, to allow the workers to work in safety, it is necessary to stop the cars.

The construction sites will open at 10pm and close at 6am the following morning from next Monday to Saturday 17th in the section from the Margine Rosso roundabout and the intersection with via Pitz'e Serra. The local police have already identified all the alternative routes that those who will have to pass through those parts at certain times will have to follow.

"It is possible that the intervention will be able to be concluded even before the 17th", anticipates the agent of the Traffic and Viability sector Antonello Casiddu. We work at night to avoid inconvenience in one of the busiest arteries in the area but those who find themselves passing during the night hours will have to pay particular attention to the signs and indications of alternative routes".

Alternative routes

Cars arriving from Margine Rosso must continue straight on via Fiume or turn left towards Poetto. "Residents on the coast will be able to use alternative routes that they already know such as passing through via Melibodes or via Ichnusa", adds Casiddu. From via Italia, in Quartello, it will not be possible to exit on the 554, so you will have to go through via Fiume or via Austria. Via Italia itself will in fact be closed to traffic at the height of the 554. Some inconvenience could arise in the first hours of closure from 10pm because the flow of traffic in the area is still high but in any case nothing comparable to the intensity of traffic during the day. From 6 onwards motorists will not find any obstacles since the intervention does not concern the carriageways but only the bridge.
