The Carabinieri investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, continues to shed light on what happened between Solanas and Quartu , where Alessandro Pintus , a 39-year-old from Cagliari, shot his wife Michela Rubiu , 47, seriously wounding her, and then killed her brother, Andrea Pintus , 42. After initially fleeing, the 39-year-old reported himself to the Carabinieri station and was taken to prison.
According to initial reports, Alessandro Pintus first wounded his wife in Solanas, where the couple runs a bar, then drove to Via Asfodelo, in Margine Rosso di Quartu, to shoot and kill his brother. "We heard the shots around 6:30 in the morning. Then the Carabinieri arrived, and we realized something serious had happened," several witnesses said.
The motive for the murder and attempted femicide— the woman is hospitalized in critical condition —is believed to be family conflict. However, investigators continue to work to piece together the details of this tragic incident.
