The city is mourning the death of Salvatore Cois. Born in 1952, he would have turned 73 in a few days. He was an employee of the Province of Cagliari and a city councilor in Quartu for 17 years, continuously from 1988 to 2005. At the same time, he was also Councilor for the Mountain Community No. XXIV of Serpeddì and a political leader on several occasions, first of the Communist Party, then of the Democratic Party of the Left, then of the Democrats of the Left, and finally of the Democratic Party.

"The passing of Tore Cois, after a long illness, is a grave loss for the city," said Mayor Graziano Milia. " It is also a grave loss for me personally, because for years I shared his political commitment, which began in the ranks of the PCI and then moved on to the PD . Tore was a straightforward person, consistent with his ideals. In this respect, he followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Raffaele Cois, an anti-fascist who was also exiled abroad, but who later became mayor in the 1970s and a historic leader and director of the Communist Party, not only in Quartu."

"Tore was an extremely capable and attentive person, and he always had the ability to delve deeply into his subjects," continues the mayor of Quartu.
