Alarm in Molentargius, flames near houses: evacuations and fear

A large fire broke out this afternoon in the Molentargius park, close to Viale Marconi, not far from a well-known dentist's office and the Esso petrol station.

The flames traveled quickly due to the strong mistral wind, starting from a reed thicket. All types of waste also contributed to fueling them - given the black color of the smoke. On the fire route, towards via Turati, there are commercial activities, houses and even a school.

Some evacuations were ordered and a house was involved in the fury of the flames. The firefighters intervened on site, with five teams - one manned a cylinder loaded with LPG - the civil protection and a regional firefighting helicopter.
