Inspection in Punta Giglio ( Alghero ) where work is underway to secure the Monte Rudedu promontory . In recent days, Adriano Grossi, member of the board of directors and delegated by the same for the public works of the special Porto Conte Park Company, together with the head of the Tender and Procurement office Pasquale Sinis, went to the site for an inspection. The project, at this stage, involves the replacement of the gates, the insertion of new accesses and a fence.

«The intervention aims to maintain the landscape characteristics of the area without compromising the original state of the places as the consistency of the works does not interfere with the sensitive elements of the environmental and landscape context», explains Grossi. Another planned intervention, and partly already carried out, is the restoration of the so-called "Moletto Finanza" . The successful company carried out the redevelopment of the small pier with the replacement of the stone elements and the reconstruction of the collapsed portion. Subsequently, an extension of the pier will be built with a new removable wooden element to be used for the vehicles of the marine protected area. Furthermore, operations are underway for the installation of new moorings with buoys which will be available for the exclusive use of authorized operators.

It must be said that the interventions on the crag , in particular those aimed at mitigating the risk of landslides on the ridge, have sparked discontent and controversy. The Committee for Punta Giglio is promoting an online petition to stop the safety works and to date it has already collected over 30 thousand signatures. «Aside from the usual and now increasingly instrumental controversies, our management of the Porto Conte Park and Marine Protected Area continues to produce tangible results which, in various aspects, will create a notable improvement in the services and environmental and tourist offer of the area and this always combining the protection of existing ecosystems and naturalistic uniqueness with growth, development and the creation of opportunities for new jobs" , comments the works delegate and member of the board of directors Adriano Grossi.
