There is still a deer alert, and accidents, on the Sardinian roads . And in particular along the ss 195 , where a reader tells UnioneSarda.it about a couple of episodes that happened to her and her partner only in the last month . Two accidents that caused serious damage to their car , but that could also have ended with much worse consequences.

"On November 15th - explains Ilaria - my partner Cristian and I were driving along the main road from Domus de Maria towards Pula. We were going at a speed of about 60km/h when at km 41 a deer crossed our path. It was around 6:15 pm, we hit it, and the animal unfortunately died instantly . We stopped and carried out all the procedures that are carried out in these cases (calls to the forestry department, photos, report, witnesses, damage estimate...). Fortunately, we were unharmed, but unfortunately our car suffered damage of 2,400 euros". And the episode is not the only one: "Yesterday evening, December 25th - explains Ilaria - while we were driving along the same road, from Domus towards Pula, while my partner was sitting in the back with our six-month-old daughter and I was driving , a deer came out of a ditch and I unfortunately hit it but it ran away . It was about the same time as last time, 6:15 p.m. More damage to the car on top of what we had already suffered."

Ilaria's concern, however, is not so much for the damage to the car, but for the consequences that could have been much worse. " But do there have to be victims or injured for something to be done? ", she asks. "It went well for us twice, but it doesn't mean it will always be like this."

Last June, a tragedy occurred in Pula : Gianfranco Palma, a tourist from Milan, died after colliding with a deer while riding his scooter on the road to Is Molas. A story that was followed by numerous complaints and reports , which unfortunately went unheard.
