"Only by being united, at all levels, can Sulcis face the crisis of the industrial pole".
A very strong message emerged this morning from the Municipal Council of Carbonia which, in an extraordinary and exceptional way, met in the auditorium of the Scientific Research Center of Sotacarbo, Great Mine of Serbariu, to discuss the dramatic situation of the industries of Portovesme. At the beginning of the session, coordinated by the president Federico Fantinel and introduced by the mayor Pietro Morittu and the top manager Sotacarbo Mario Porcu, the mood was partly raised by the fact that yesterday Portovesme srl announced to freeze the closure of the Lead line for 3 months . A postponement that, however, does not leave you calm.
"We are facing an unprecedented social emergency", remarked the mayor in front of a large audience. A joint majority and minority document commits the Government to support all initiatives aimed at supporting the activity of the pole industrial for the maintenance and increase of jobs.
Proposal shared by Don Antonio Mura, former parish priest in Carbonia, now parish priest in Portoscuso and delegate of the Diocese for the Pastoral Care of Labor: "Bewilderment - he underlined - find ourselves in the same conditions as 40 years ago". The compact unity of local administrators and trade unions was hoped for by the secretaries Franco Bardi, CGIL, and Luigi Tocco, Uil: “Otherwise Sulcis will die”.
And at the extraordinary assembly this morning there were also the parliamentarians Alessandra Todde (M5S), Sasso Deidda (Brothers of Italy), Silvio Lai (Pd), Francesca Ghirra (Progressive), Sabrina Licheri (M5S).
