Strike this morning at Sider Alloys in Portovesme. The unpaid wages and the dismissal of the canteen workers have induced the secretariats of Fiom Cgil, Fsm Cisl, Uilm and Cub to proclaim the strike.
"It's a never-ending dispute," says Renato Tocco, Uilm secretary, "Sider Alloys took over the plant six years ago. According to ministerial agreements, it should have restarted production, but there is a lot of uncertainty about the relaunch."

Four hours of strike, no one passes through the gates: the vehicles headed to the factory wait in front of the gates. "There is a lot of concern about the timing of this dispute," says Roberto Forresu, secretary of Fiom Cgil, "a turning point is needed. The delay in paying salaries and the situation of the canteen workers, fired for non-payment of the order, describe the situation."

Also in the meeting with the workers is Don Antonio Mura, head of the Pastoral for Work. "Concrete answers are slow in arriving," he says, "disputes are multiplying, every day I hear the suffering of families involved in the various industrial crises who do not know how to deal with the situation."
