Vandals to the park of San Gavino, one of the playgrounds of Porto Torres very popular with children and families.
The waste bins were torn up, structures unhinged and thrown on the ground together with the litter scattered in the area. A nasty surprise for the frequent visitors of the park, yet another deplorable act in a green area, in front of the historic monument of the Basilica of San Gavino, recently subjected to redevelopment works for an amount of about 185 thousand euros with the aim of transform it into a “smart” area, with picnic and games areas, fitness areas and a wi-fi network, through a loan of 500 thousand euros granted by the Metropolitan Network.
Yet the vandalism is repeated despite the recent fence and the new entrance portal that has given a new face to the park. On the sides still escape routes allow entry even when the area is closed to the public.
It is not the first time that the park has been targeted by vandals, a gesture condemned once again by the municipal administration which will have to restore the decor.
