The project on the regasification terminal in the industrial port of Porto Torres is proceeding rapidly, a plant which by the end of 2023 will be ready to receive 46 small-size LNG tankers which will shuttle every year to unload liquid natural gas at the coal dock of E.On .
Snam's project to build the regasification unit, on a vessel permanently moored in the E.On quay, has been filed with the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (Mase) , for obtaining the Environmental Impact Assessment. Until 19 January it will be possible to submit observations to the "Porto Torres Terminal and related works" project which envisages a newly built plant , consisting of a barge-type floating regasification vessel (Fsru), with a storage capacity of approximately 25 thousand cubic meters of LNG and regasification of 170 thousand Sm3/h.
Every year , 44 LNG tankers carrying 7,500 cubic meters of LNG and two of 30,000 used at half load will travel for supply, but in exceptional cases of peak demand, the plant will be able to receive ships of up to 75,000 cubic metres.
The plant allows the storage and vaporization of liquefied natural gas for its transfer to the ground gas transport network which will be built by Enura SpA, a company also subject to the management and coordination of Snam.
The Fsru, which is expected to be completed within the year, will be permanently moored along the current E.On quay in Porto Torres.
It will be the Mase in agreement with the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport (MIT), in agreement with the Region, to grant the Single Authorization.
