Start of the first phase of the characterization plan of the Monte Rosè landfill, the municipal solid waste collection site decommissioned in 1999.

Located in the Porto Torres area, on the provincial road leading to Stintino, the contaminated area will undergo reclamation, with an initial intervention that includes a series of geophysical surveys and topographic surveys to verify the degree of pollution.

The objectives of the Region are the characterization plans and the emergency safety interventions of the contaminated areas.

In this context, the Municipality of Porto Torres is the beneficiary of a loan of 252 thousand euros for the landfill: resources that will allow the implementation of the interventions envisaged in the site characterization plan approved in 2013, for an amount based on the auction equal to approximately 167 thousand euros.

The contract was awarded to Studiambiente Multianalitica Srl of Sassari for an amount of approximately 171 thousand euros. The landfill is one of the 404 polluted sites on the island surveyed by the Region with "high priority".
