In the municipal council in Porto Torres the discussion is animated for an agenda proposed by the leader of the League, Ivan Cermelli . “In recent days, through the social channels we learned that a local association has had the opportunity to camp and sleep inside the Palazzo del Marchese , the institutional seat of the municipality of Porto Torres” underlines Cermelli.

"Considering that the members of this association are all residents of Porto Torres and that the intended use of the Palazzo del Marchese is certainly not that of the bivouacs, which can also compromise the value and the works contained in this building, the mayor is asked and the council in order to find out if this news is true and by whom and why they were authorized ".

Immediate reply of the mayor Massimo Mulas and the councilor for Culture, Maria Bastiana Cocco: "The exhibition was organized by the Etnos association and realized thanks to the availability of folk groups from twelve different Sardinian communities who made available about forty traditional clothes , with accessories and jewelry. It deals with material that has an economic value of several tens of thousands of euros, - underlines Mulas and Cocco - and an inestimable historical-artistic value. Not being able to offer a guardian service to protect the objects on display, the Etnos association was asked to be willing to guarantee a guard even at night . We thank the volunteers for this commitment, for having returned the Palazzo del Marchese in better condition than they had found it and - they continue - for having also left a welcome gift: a pedestal to be able to permanently exhibit the historic coat of arms of the Martinez family, accompanied by a historical report that explains the importance of this effigy ”.
