Chased by the police for 12 km from Ottava to Sassari .

Last Monday the escape of a man from Sassari who, in a shopping center in Porto Torres, had stolen three bottles of alcohol and had driven away in a Toyota .

When told to stop , the driver of the Japanese car instead decided to accelerate along the way, trying to outrun the police by driving in the center of the road and burning the red lights , reaching speeds of up to 150 km/h. After passing Li Punti he was finally blocked near the industrial area of Predda Niedda.

Yesterday in court the direct where the man, defended by the lawyer Marco Palmieri, apologized, stating that he had been overcome by panic . In the end he was sentenced by judge Monia Adami, as per the plea bargaining request of prosecutor Paola Manunza and the lawyer, to 10 months in prison and a 350 euro fine.
