The memory of a man of sport, with great human gifts and extraordinary ability to organize boxing events.

Ten years after the death of Alberto Mura , boxing master and chief inspector of the State Police in Porto Torres , the city is celebrating with a three-day event entitled "Ten Years - A breath that feeds life".

A great event that will take place from 15 to 17 December, organized by the Boxing Club "Alberto Mura" with the collaboration of the Municipality of Porto Torres , the Foundation of Sardinia, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and the Italian Boxing Federation, on the tenth anniversary of his death .

The program will kick off on 15 December at 6 pm in the Sala Filippo Canu with the presentation of a book of testimonials on Alberto Mura , edited by the journalist Gianni Bazzoni, and a mini documentary made by the director Mauro Fancello. On Friday 16th and Saturday 17th, starting at 7.30pm, we will move to the Pala Mura for an international boxing event : the first day will see the confrontation "Sardinia vs. Lazio", the second "Italy vs. Belgium".

Alberto Mura , who died in 2012 at the age of 54, was Senior Inspector of the State Police and head of the Fixed Post of the Maritime Border Police of Porto Torres. Before becoming a boxing master he had a good amateur career fighting in the welterweight category, in the Fiamme Oro excellence of Italian boxing. Boxing had a place of honor in his life: a pupil of Mario Solinas, he created the Porto Torres Boxing Club from scratch and was a master, promoter and organizer of numerous boxing events , remembered today among the best on the Italian scene. In April 2013 the Municipal Administration of Porto Torres paid homage to him by naming the sports hall after him .

The deputy mayor Simona Fois underlined how Alberto Mura deserves to be remembered as a faithful servant of the State and for the successes achieved in the sports field: «I think it is also right to celebrate his marked social sensitivity , his attention to the least and his regenerating and therapeutic of his way of training and nurturing talents ».

Luciano Mura , former mayor of Porto Torres and brother of Alberto, recalled the preventive philosophy of the boxing master's educational approach , together with his vision of sport as an opportunity to promote his city internationally. Gianni Bazzoni recounted how the title of the event came about ( Ten Years, a breath that feeds life ) which summarizes the great legacy left by Mura: «He showed optimism and hope even in the last stages of his illness . And the fact that we are here to carry on what he was unable to complete proves that he has not lost that battle».
