The technical office of the Municipality of Porto Torres took steps to dismantle the scaffolding that was obstructing the only entrance to the home of a disabled person , which had become inaccessible due to the scaffolding supporting the unusable balconies of the public residential buildings, in via Falcone and Purse.

Gianfranco Careddu, 61 years old from Porto Torres, suffering from a disability due to progressive multiple sclerosis diagnosed about 20 years ago, had asked the municipal administration for help because he was forced to make difficult maneuvers to leave the house.

The case had been reported to the city council by the M5s councilor, Sebastiano Sassu, who had requested immediate intervention.

Yesterday evening the "cage" was dismantled and for Gianfranco Careddu serenity returned, the possibility of being able to easily leave his home, above all of being able to guarantee the possible emergency intervention of health workers.

«I thank all those who supported me – said Gianfranco – including the municipal structure that intervened. It means a lot to me to be able to move freely."
