Construction sites are opening on the intervention for the ordinary maintenance and safety of the Porto Torres cycle path .

The works affect a two kilometer stretch of route between the churches of Balai Vicino and Balai Lontano .

The project is the result of the 590 thousand euro compensation agreement signed last year with the company Wood Sardegna srl, with a plan managed by the previous Scarpa administration, to obtain recognition of compensatory measures such as environmental relief for the construction of a power plant electricity from a renewable wind source in the Monte Rosè area.

The intervention involves the transformation into a two-way cycle/pedestrian path; demolition of pavement and sidewalk in the first 96 metres, creation of a new foundation layer to regularize the bottom after laying the geotextile, laying of fiber-reinforced concrete screed and architectural flooring in eco-friendly material of the concentrated colored Levofloor system type with exposed gravel effect and creation of signs horizontal and vertical.

According to the timetable, the works - which it was decided to start in autumn so as not to impact the next summer season - should last 90 days and will proceed along road sections so as not to interrupt, as far as possible, the practicability of the areas in question. .

This intervention is part of the municipal administration's project aimed at redeveloping the coast of Porto Torres which, thanks to the new cycle path and the works that are affecting the stretch of road between the port and Balai Vicino, will have a new, more beautiful and safer seafront .
