The old building of the former agricultural consortium, located in via Sassari in Porto Torres, has for a few days become a refuge for some homeless people who live in difficult conditions. Around the abandoned warehouse, piles of waste that risk transforming the area into yet another landfill to be reclaimed, with the danger that the hygiene situation will degenerate to the point of determining conditions of environmental degradation.
Inside, serial hoarders reported to the competent authorities, people who in the past had occupied other areas of the city, near the former slaughterhouse, not far from the city center, transformed into open-air landfills with dozens of cubic meters of waste piled up, an ecological bomb later subject to remediation activities by Sangalli spa, the company appointed by the Municipality of Porto Torres to manage the urban hygiene service.
Near the Granai supermarket, inside the former agricultural consortium, in December, a homeless person was rushed to the emergency room with a red code, due to his precarious health conditions. The alarm situation arises again, this time not far from the homes and the city center.
