The passion for sport, the smile and the strength with which he faced the disease. Alessia Sanna, a promising young Sardinian footballer, originally from Ittiri but a long-time resident of Porto Torres, died at the age of 18 defeated by a tumor that quickly took her away.

Goalkeeper in Sassari Torres after having played in the women's soccer team of Ittiri, he attended the sports high school in Porto Torres, a sunny character and the desire to live and win many challenges that his schoolmates will not be able to forget. The community of Ittiri was stunned, the mayor Antonio Sau wanted to express a thought of pain. "Her death leaves the whole community of Ittiri incredulous and deeply shaken - she says - Alessia's life was full of challenges, steep climbs that she had to face at an age to which light-heartedness generally belongs". Struck by her strength and courage in facing all adversities, in particular the hardest moment of the disease, the first citizen of Ittira underlines: "However, Alessia's life is above all a story of love, the true, genuine, profound one that 'she tied to her mother and to all the people who loved her and who accompanied her on her life path ”.

After the funeral to be held today in Porto Torres, the coffin will be transferred to Ittiri. Upon his arrival in the village, the mayor asked the community to symbolically gather around the family with the simple gesture of lowering the shutters and the suspension of activities.
