The controls , particularly on the Balai beach, have been intensified following the succession of acts of vandalism and after the signing of the mayoral ordinance imposing a smoking ban on the city beaches, a measure issued by Mayor Massimo Mulas for the protection of public health and decorum.
Three female traffic wardens have been patrolling the Balai beach since this morning, August 15, which is less crowded than usual due to the weather , but still pleasant for a dip in the crystalline waters of the Gulf of Asinara. They work shifts from 8 am to 2 pm and from 2 pm to 8 pm, finding some violators of the smoking ban and some anomalous behavior. They work in collaboration with the lifeguards of the Salias Service company, responsible for carrying out lifeguarding services at sea.
The municipal police command ensures environmental protection and compliance with civil rules that allow the peaceful enjoyment of Balai beach, where uncivilized acts and vandalism have occurred too often.
