The driver of the Nissan Qashqai who caused the accident in via Balai in Porto Torres, yesterday around 20.30, at the intersection with via Lussu. The man, a 47-year-old from Sassari, wounded and bleeding, had fled after the impact with a parked Renault Clio , the car owned by a barracelli agent who had stopped to close the gates of the playground of Balai. On board the 58-year-old wife who, following the collision, suffered a trauma to her back. The woman, an Avis volunteer, was transferred by ambulance by 118 colleagues to the Santissima Annunziata civil hospital to be subjected to checks. His conditions are not serious.

According to the first reconstruction of the dynamics, the driver of the Nissan, with three other people on board, was traveling via Balai towards the center, when he crashed into the Clio, parked on the right side of the road. After the collision, the 47-year-old lost control of the car, ending up on the other side of the road against a public lighting pole. A violent impact enough to "rip" the electric cables of the pole, dragged for a few meters to the end of the race, on the sidewalk. The injured man got out of the car and fled on foot, regardless of the consequences. Three passengers who remained on the spot were also on board.

The driver, after wandering around the city, was tracked down a few minutes later by the carabinieri of the local company in a bar not far from via Balai. He was immediately rescued and transported by ambulance to the Sassari hospital. Doctors diagnosed him with a head injury. The patrols of the carabinieri and the state police are on site for the surveys. The first to intervene were the firefighters of Porto Torres for the regulation of the viability and the restoration of the safety conditions of the road due to the uncovered electric wires. They waited until midnight for the technicians to arrive to repair the damage.
