Buildings and buildings falling apart, unmaintained facades showing signs of decay. The mayor of Porto Torres , Massimo Mulas, has issued yet another ordinance against the owners of a 4-storey building in via Ariosto where the firefighters have detected the need for urgent interventions to restore the unsafe parts.

The report shows that some cement portions fell from a ledge on the top floor of the building onto the sidewalk of the public road , to which various garages also have access. Furthermore, in various points of all the facades of the building there are evident lesions spread to the plaster, in the canopies, in the jambs, in the stringcourses and in the parapets.

The 115 teams who intervened on site also found deep vertical cracks in various pillars, both at the base and in height and, following the removal of some portions of damaged plaster that covered them, it was found that the reinforcing rods are considerably oxidized . Serious critical issues also in the canopies of some balconies on the top floor, seriously damaged, and the infill masonry on the main facade which in some sections does not appear to be well anchored to the support beam.

The firefighters have removed from the main facade the parts of imminent danger of falling and delimited the underlying areas with signal tape , but it is considered extremely urgent to place, in the affected areas, works to protect and protect people waiting for them to be done in-depth checks on all visible cracks and lesions.

In the meantime, the mayor's provision orders the owners of the houses concerned to intervene immediately within 30 days of notification of the ordinance.
