Porto Torres: attempts to extract fossils from limestone rock, reported

With hammer and chisel, at night, he tried to extract fossils from the limestone rock of the Balai seafront.

It was discovered by the carabinieri of the Porto Torres mobile radio: the 64-year-old foreigner had various tools with him and had already detached various pieces of rock: fossils that are considered "cultural heritage" owned by the state.

The man was charged with aggravated theft .
