Porto Torres, a fourteen-year-old girl was groped and grabbed by the hair on the street: Carabinieri are investigating.

The Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office has reported an incident of sexual harassment suffered by a 14-year-old girl on Sunday afternoon in Porto Torres.

She was walking on Via Sassari, not far from the newsstand, when a man in his twenties, of foreign origin, allegedly approached her and attempted to grope her. He attempted to put his hands inside her bra, but she fought back, and in an attempt to break free, the assailant grabbed her hair. The girl managed to free herself from her attacker and run home. Chased for a while, she then reached her home.

"The dark-skinned man was wearing a black tracksuit," her mother explained, "and was probably under the influence of alcohol or drugs." Still in shock, the 14-year-old told her parents what had happened, who immediately reported the incident to the Carabinieri of the Porto Torres branch.

In the coming hours, the minor's version of events will be heard to help investigators identify the perpetrator. Surveillance cameras in the area could provide useful information to reconstruct the incident. The footage was acquired by the Carabinieri, who are investigating the incident at the request of the Prosecutor's Office.
