Porto Conte, woman drowns in front of dozens of swimmers

A tourist drowned this afternoon on the beach of Porto Conte.

The 118 rescue efforts were useless: the health workers were unable to do anything to save the woman, only ascertain her death.

The ambulance drove away with its sirens off.

The tragedy occurred in front of dozens of swimmers.

Perhaps the cause of death was due to a sudden illness: probably the victim, 84 years old, of German origin but resident in the Como area, felt ill while bathing and suffered a cardiac arrest.
